Acquire a Public IP

This guide explains how to acquire a new Public IP address in CloudRaya.

Public IPs can be attached to:

  • Virtual Machines
  • Load Balancers
  • VPC Routers
  • Kubernetes services

Before You Begin

Before acquiring a Public IP, make sure that:

  • You have available Public IP quota
  • You are working in the correct Project
  • You understand that Public IPs are account-level resources

📄 See: Public IP Limits

Ways to Acquire a Public IP in CloudRaya

In CloudRaya, a Public IP can only be acquired through a resource that requires it.

You cannot create a standalone Public IP. A Public IP is always generated and attached as part of a resource workflow.

Acquire a Public IP from a Resource

Public IPs are created when you enable or attach them to a supported resource.

For example, from a Virtual Machine:

  1. Open Dashboard → Virtual Machine
  2. Select the VM
  3. Go to VM Detail → IP Settings
  4. Click Acquire New Public IP
  5. Confirm the action

The Public IP is automatically created and attached to the VM.

Note

The Public IP is generated by the platform as part of the resource configuration and will appear in the Public IP list after it is attached.

Public IP Visibility After Acquisition

After acquiring a Public IP:

  • The IP appears in Dashboard → Public IP Address
  • The list shows:
    • IP address
    • Type (VM, Load Balancer, Virtual Router, Kubernetes)
    • Attached instance (if any)
    • Region

If the IP is not attached to any resource, the instance field appears empty.
