This guide explains how to purchase, validate, and activate an SSL certificate through CloudRaya Marketplace.

SSL certificates are attached to a domain, not a server.

After purchase, domain ownership verification is required before the certificate can be issued and used.

Use this page as your operational reference for certificate lifecycle and activation.

Overview

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificates enable HTTPS encryption between users and your application or website.

They are commonly used to:

• Secure login forms and user data
• Enable trusted browser connections
• Meet compliance and security requirements
• Improve SEO and user trust

High-Level Flow

All SSL certificates follow the same lifecycle:

1. Select SSL type
   Choose a certificate that matches your domain and security requirements.

2. Enter domain and contact details
   Provide ownership and organization information for validation.

3. Complete payment
   Confirm purchase using CloudRaya credits or invoice.

4. Verify domain ownership
   Complete validation with the certificate authority.

5. Install certificate
   Apply the certificate to your server or platform.

6. Renew or reissue
   Maintain validity and update certificates when needed.

Step 1 — Purchase SSL

1. From the CloudRaya Control Panel home page navigate to Other Products → Marketplace
2. Go to My Licenses
3. Click Add License
4. Select SSL

You will be taken to the SSL purchase form.

Step 2 — Select SSL Type

Choose a certificate type that fits your use case:

• Standard SSL
  For single-domain websites and basic encryption.

• Wildcard SSL
  Secures a domain and all its subdomains (e.g., *.example.com).

• Premium SSL
  Includes enhanced validation or brand trust features, depending on the vendor.

Each option defines:

• Domain coverage
• Validation level
• Billing cycle (typically yearly)

Step 3 — Enter Domain & Organization Info

Provide the following details:

• Domain name (e.g., example.com)
• Contact email address
• Company name and address
• Country and location details

This information is used for:

• Certificate validation
• Issuance records
• Renewal and contact notifications

Make sure the email address is accessible, as validation messages may be sent to it.

Step 4 — Complete Payment

Choose one of the available options:

• Pay using credit balance
  The SSL license will be paid immediately using your available CloudRaya credit.

• Do not select Pay using credit balance
  A new invoice will be generated when you click Add SSL.
  The SSL license will remain in a pending state until the invoice is paid.

• (Optional) Auto-renew using credit
  Enables automatic renewal using your credit balance before the certificate expires.

Click Add SSL to submit the purchase.

Once payment is completed, the certificate enters a pending validation state.

Step 5 — Domain Validation & Issuance

After purchase, CloudRaya submits your SSL order to the Certificate Authority (CA) — the official certificate issuer (such as GeoTrust or DigiCert).

The CA will perform Domain Control Validation (DCV) to confirm that you own or control the domain.

You will be asked to complete one of the following verification methods:

• Email approval
  Click a verification link sent to a domain-related email address (e.g. admin@yourdomain.com).

• DNS validation
  Add a TXT or CNAME record to your domain’s DNS provider.

• File upload
  Upload a verification file to your web server under a specific path.

Once validation succeeds, the CA issues the certificate, and it becomes available for installation.

Step 6 — Install Certificate

Install the issued certificate on your platform, such as:

• Web servers
  • Nginx
  • Apache
• Hosting control panels
  • cPanel / WHM
• Load balancers or reverse proxies

This typically involves uploading:

• Certificate file
• Private key
• CA bundle (if required)

Refer to your platform’s documentation for the exact steps.

Renewal & Expiration

SSL certificates are time-based licenses (usually yearly).

• Expired certificates will cause browser security warnings
• HTTPS connections may fail for users
• Some platforms will block access entirely

Best Practices

• Enable auto-renew using credit
• Monitor expiration dates in Services → Licenses
• Reissue certificates if your domain or validation method changes
