Marketplace FAQs
This page covers common questions related to CloudRaya Marketplace, including solution types, deployment behavior, billing, access, lifecycle management, and operational boundaries.
Marketplace — General
Q: What is CloudRaya Marketplace, and how is it different from Compute services?
A:
Marketplace is a solution catalog for deploying ready-to-use software and services.
Compute services (Virtual Machines and KubeRaya) provide infrastructure building blocks. Marketplace provides production-ready solutions built on top of those building blocks, so you can deploy faster without designing the stack from scratch.
Q: How do I know what type of solution I am deploying?
A:
Each Marketplace item is labeled by solution type on its detail page:
- Serverless Container → Deploys a running application
- Licensed Software → Activates a software license
- Third-party App → Subscribes to a third-party service delivered through CloudRaya
The solution type determines how it is deployed, billed, and managed.
Q: Where do I manage deployed Marketplace solutions?
A:
Management location depends on the solution type:
- Serverless Containers → My Apps
- Licensed Software → Licenses
- Third-party App → Services or service-specific pages
Serverless Containers
Q: When should I use Serverless Containers instead of a VM or KubeRaya?
A:
Use Serverless Containers when you want to:
- Deploy common applications quickly
- Avoid managing operating systems and container platforms
- Run MVPs, staging environments, or lightweight production services
Use VMs or KubeRaya when you need full system control, custom architectures, or advanced networking and storage designs.
Q: What happens when I resize an application?
A:
Resizing changes only the CPU and memory (RAM) allocated to the app.
Storage size remains fixed. The app is briefly redeployed to apply the new limits.
Q: Does redeploying my app delete my data?
A:
No. Redeploying restarts the containers and applies new configuration or package settings, but application storage is preserved.
Data is only removed when the application is deleted.
Q: Can I use my own domain with a Serverless Container app?
A:
Yes. You can attach a custom domain (domain alias) by creating a CNAME record that points your domain to the CloudRaya platform. HTTPS is automatically provisioned.
Q: Where can I see CPU, memory, and logs for my app?
A:
Open your app in My Apps and use the:
- Monitoring tab for CPU and memory metrics
- Logs tab for live container output
Q: How do I completely stop billing for a Serverless Container app?
A:
You must delete the application.
Redeploying the app does not stop billing as long as the app exists in your account.
Licensed Software
Q: Does Licensed Software deploy a running application?
A:
No. Licensed Software activates a software license, not a running service.
The license may need to be attached to a VM, public IP, or service, depending on the product.
Q: Can I move a license to a different resource?
A:
Yes. Most licenses can be detached and reassigned to another eligible resource, such as a different VM or IP address.
Q: When does billing start for a license?
A:
Billing starts when the license is purchased or activated, not when it is attached to a resource.
Q: Are licenses billed monthly or yearly?
A:
It depends on the product. Some licenses are monthly, while others (such as SSL certificates) are yearly.
Q: What happens if I delete the resource using the license?
A:
The license usually remains active in your account and can be reassigned, unless you explicitly cancel it.
Q: How do I stop billing for a license?
A:
You must cancel the license from the Licenses section.
Third-party App
Q: What is a Third-party App?
A:
Third-party App is a service delivered through CloudRaya using partner technology, such as backup or email services. The service is provisioned and supported within the CloudRaya platform.
Q: Do Third-party App run on my own infrastructure?
A:
Some Third-party App run on CloudRaya-managed infrastructure, while others provide access to a service portal, depending on the solution.
Q: Where do I manage a Third-party App after subscribing?
A:
Third-party App appear in Services or a service-specific management page, where you can view status, plan details, and access information.
Q: How is billing handled for Third-party App?
A:
Third-party App are typically billed monthly based on the selected plan or usage tier and are included in your CloudRaya billing.
Q: How do I cancel a Partner Solution?
A:
You can cancel the service from the Services section. Billing stops after the current billing period ends.
