Migration to CloudRaya New Panel FAQs
This page covers common questions related to migrating from CloudRaya Old panel to CloudRaya New Panel, including what to expect before, during, and after migration, and how the process affects workloads, automation, billing, and compliance records.
It is designed to help administrators, operators, and account owners plan a safe migration window, verify platform readiness, and validate resource integrity and billing continuity after moving to CloudRaya New Panel.
Migration Timeline
- Self Migration: 3 February – 28 February 2026
- Automatic Migration: Starting 1 March 2026 (old panel will no longer be accessible)
Overview & Scope
Q: What does the CloudRaya old panel to new panel migration change?
A:
The migration upgrades your account and control panel experience, not the underlying infrastructure. Virtual Machines, KubeRaya clusters, storage services, and networking resources continue running during the process. The primary changes are in account structure, project-based access, API behavior, and platform workflows.
Q: Do I need to create a new account for CloudRaya New Panel?
A:
No. You will continue using your existing account and email address. After migration, you will be prompted to reset your password before logging into the CloudRaya New Panel platform.
Migration Process & Timing
Q: Can I choose when migration happens?
A:
Yes. If you use Self Migration, the process starts immediately when you initiate it. We recommend selecting a maintenance window when temporary control panel unavailability is acceptable and your team can monitor automation and operational changes.
If you do not migrate during the self-migration window, your account will be automatically migrated starting 1 March 2026.
Q: How long does migration take?
A:
In most cases, migration completes within a few minutes. Timing may vary based on account size, number of resources, and platform load.
If migration exceeds 1 hour, contact CloudRaya Support.
Q: Will my running workloads experience downtime?
A:
No. Your workloads continue running. Migration affects the account and control panel, not the underlying compute, storage, or networking services. You may be temporarily logged out of the control panel while the process completes.
Billing, Credits & Records
Q: Will my billing balance be preserved?
A:
Yes. Your Cloud Credit balance is carried over to CloudRaya New Panel.
Q: What happens if I migrate in the middle of usage or billing?
A:
- Services continue running and are charged hourly as usual
- Your current balance moves to New panel
- Historical invoices and reports from Old panel are not migrated and should be exported before migration to CloudRaya New Panel
Q: How long should I keep my Old panel exports and reports?
A:
CloudRaya does not enforce a retention period. Keep invoices, billing records, and usage reports as long as required by your company policies or local regulations.
Resource Integrity & Validation
Q: How can I verify that all my resources were migrated correctly?
A:
After logging into CloudRaya New Panel, review:
- Virtual Machines (names, status, IP addresses)
- KubeRaya clusters and node counts
- Storage services and buckets
- VPCs, VPNs, and Load Balancers
- Managed Services and Marketplace subscriptions
Best Practice: Capture a pre-migration resource list or screenshots for comparison.
Q: Will my IP allowlists, firewall rules, or access restrictions be preserved?
A:
Yes. Network-level configurations such as VPCs, VPNs, Load Balancers, and Public IP assignments are preserved.
Application-level or VM-level security settings remain unchanged because workloads continue running.
Q: What happens to my VM password after migrating from old panel to new panel?
A:
VM operating system credentials remain unchanged during migration.
For example:
- In old panel, your VM root password was:
f9Kx!2LmQ7zP - After migrating to new panel, the VM still uses the same OS-level password internally.
However:
- In new panel dashboard, the password section will not show “View Password.”
- It will directly display “Reset Password.”
This is because new panel does not store or re-display previously generated passwords.
If you still remember your original password, you can continue using it normally via SSH.
If you no longer remember it, use Reset Password, and the new password will only be shown once.
Q: How are scheduled tasks and background jobs affected?
A:
- Workload-level schedules (cron jobs inside VMs or Kubernetes workloads) continue to run normally
- VM Schedules configured in the Old panel control panel are not migrated and must be recreated in CloudRaya New Panel
Automation & API
Q: Do I need to change my automation scripts?
A:
Yes, if you use the CloudRaya API. CloudRaya New Panel introduces new endpoints, updated authentication flows, and revised response formats. Review the CloudRaya API documentation before re-enabling automation.
Limits, Projects & Access Model
Q: Are there any usage limits or quotas that change in CloudRaya New Panel?
A:
No. Default usage limits remain the same after migration to CloudRaya New Panel.
Limits are based on the number of resources created, not the size or specification of each resource.
Q: What are the current platform limits per project?
A:
Current general limits per project:
- Maximum Virtual Machines: 4
- Maximum Kubernetes Clusters: 4
- Maximum Public IPs: 4
- Maximum Disks: 4
- Maximum Buckets: 4
- Maximum Snapshot Images: 4
For object storage, each bucket has a default storage limit of 20 GB.
These limits are designed to maintain platform stability and ensure fair resource allocation across all users.
If your workload requires higher limits, you may contact CloudRaya Support for review and adjustment.
Q: Can I reorganize my resources into new Projects after migration?
A:
Migrated resources remain in the Default Project and cannot be moved. To change structure, create new resources in new Projects and migrate data manually.
Q: Can I rename or delete the Default Project?
A:
You can rename the Default Project, but you cannot delete it. Existing resources cannot be moved out of it.
Q: What happens to shared access after migration?
A:
CloudRaya New Panel introduces project-based access. Instead of sharing one login, each user has their own account and is invited to specific Projects. This improves security and provides a clear audit trail of who performed each action.
Q: Can a Project have more than one Project Owner?
A:
No. Each Project can only have one Project Owner. If ownership needs to change, contact CloudRaya Support to request an ownership transfer.
Best Practice: Always invite at least one trusted member to each Project to avoid access issues if the Project Owner becomes unavailable.
Q: How does migration affect cost tracking and allocation?
A:
In CloudRaya New Panel, Projects replace tags as the primary way to group resources for cost tracking. Use Projects to separate teams, applications, or environments, and review usage by Project in Cloud Credit History.
DNS & Marketplace Services
Q: What happens to my DNS records during migration?
A:
Your domain and name server (NS) settings do not change.
DNS records stored in the Old panel DNS Bucket are migrated automatically to the CloudRaya New Panel.
After migration, all existing DNS records will be available in the CloudRaya New Panel and can be managed as usual.
Recommended Action:
After migration is complete, review your DNS records in the CloudRaya New Panel to ensure all records are correct and up to date.
Error Handling & Recovery
Q: How are failed or partial migrations handled?
A:
Migration runs as a single automated process. If you encounter errors or cannot access your account after migration, contact CloudRaya Support with your account email and migration time for verification and recovery.
Q: Can I test CloudRaya New Panel before migrating my main account?
A:
Yes. You can create a secondary account to explore CloudRaya New Panel and train your team. New accounts created before 3 March 2026 will still start in Old panel and can use the self-migration option to move to CloudRaya New Panel.
