Platform Tools FAQs
This page covers common questions related to CloudRaya Platform Tools, including how to navigate the control panel, manage Projects, find and organize resources, monitor activity, and use operational features across CloudRaya services.
It is designed to help operators and administrators work efficiently in the CloudRaya Control Panel, understand where to find key information, and perform daily workflows safely and consistently.
Control Panel & Navigation
Q: How do I switch between Projects in the control panel?
A:
Use the Project selector in the control panel header to switch between Projects. The resources and services you see in the dashboard update automatically based on the selected Project.
Q: Why canβt I see a resource that I know exists?
A:
The most common reason is that you are viewing the wrong Project. Resources are always scoped to a specific Project. Switch Projects using the selector and refresh the page.
Q: Can I search for resources across all Projects at once?
A:
No. Resource lists and search are scoped to the currently selected Project. To find a resource in another Project, switch to that Project using the Project selector, then open the relevant service page and use the search and filter options.
Projects & Team Workflows
Q: What is a Project used for in daily operations?
A:
A Project acts as a workspace to group related resources, users, and costs. Operators typically use Projects to separate production, staging, and development environments or to organize resources by team or application.
Q: How do I create a new Project?
A:
Go to Projects in the control panel and select Create Project. Provide a name and description. Once created, you can start deploying resources and inviting members to that Project.
Q: How do I invite someone to help manage my Project?
A:
Open the Project, go to Members, and select Invite Member. The user will receive an email invitation and will gain access to the Project once they accept.
Q: How can I tell who has access to a Project?
A:
Open the Project and view the Members list. This shows all users who have been invited and currently have access to that Project.
Activity Monitoring & Visibility
Q: Where can I see what actions were performed in my Projects?
A:
Use the User Action Log. It provides a platform-wide view of actions performed by users and the system across all services.
Q: How do I filter or search the User Action Log?
A:
You can filter by date range, affected object (VM, Registry, Invoice, etc.), and status (Pending, Processing, Success, Failed) to locate specific events.
Q: Why do I see system actions in the activity log?
A:
Some actions are recorded as system-triggered events, such as background processes or automated platform operations. These are included to provide a complete operational history.
Notifications & System Messages
Q: How will I know if an operation fails or does not complete successfully?
A:
After you perform an action in the control panel, CloudRaya shows a status message in the interface. You can also check the User Action Log to see whether the action is marked as Pending, Processing, Success, or Failed, along with the affected resource.
Q: Can I export or share activity data with my team?
A:
Usage and billing views such as Cloud Credit History and Monthly Usage History can be exported for reporting and internal review.
For the User Action Log, you can filter and view actions directly in the control panel. If you need to share activity records, you can capture or copy the filtered results for documentation or audit purposes.
Safety & Best Practices
Q: What is the safest way to operate across multiple Projects?
A:
- Always confirm the active Project before creating or deleting resources
- Use clear naming conventions for Projects and resources
- Separate production and non-production into different Projects
- Review the User Action Log after major changes
Q: What is the most common operational mistake in the control panel?
A:
Performing actions in the wrong Project, such as deleting or modifying a resource in production instead of staging. Always check the Project selector before confirming changes.
